If your definition of backpedal is “to clarify miscommunicated intentions and make changes based customer feedback”, they yeah, I’d say they did an awesome job of backpedalling.

Coming, are you just being cynical and funny or do you really believe what you wrote?

See here and here.

Jay, I believe you are being cynical. Clearly they backpedalled but they didn’t do enough though. Now it is quite clear that the intention of the MT is to make lots of lots of money. Asking 100$ for a piece of software that is not doing much is just ridicoulous and greedy. They did an excellent job in destroying the trust they had. Sure some people will still love them even though they tried to screw them, but who cares about them.

Jay, I’m a bit confused by your comment. Backpedaling from a poor strategy is a good thing. But it sounds like SA didn’t understand their own license, and posting long clarifications at 1:30 AM local time doesn’t seem to be a indication of good communication or a well thought-out strategy.

Too bad, because MT is a good product. Just overpriced.

“Now it is quite clear that the intention of the MT is to make lots of lots of money.”

Isn’t that a definition of “American Dream” – work really really hard (and Six Apart did) and make lots and lots of money…

Ho can you blame anyone who followed the official philosophy of the current society? And if they have made a mistake or whatever – it will reflect on their bank account so they will/are paing for that… literaly.

Free ride is coming to an end and we wish it would be longer, but lets face it, before we can rightfully be “booing” people from MT we should ban landlords from charging rent
