&lt;p&gt;Actually, I&#039;m at least as concerned about the &lt;em&gt;perception&lt;/em&gt; among (most?) Europeans of both their own and the American press as I am about the imbalance in the press itself.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;American public discourse is nowhere near as one-sided as most Europeans seem to believe, and the widespread belief that it &lt;em&gt;is&lt;/em&gt; one-sided and purely propaganda driven allows people to dismiss any consideration of other points of view without actually giving them any sort of hearing at all.&lt;/p&gt;
