LA Times: U.S. Expatriate Hipsters Plug Into the Buzz of Berlin “Berlin is like the antidote to New York. It’s all the things you want, the culture, the music scene, but none of the stress… (We) see it as a place of lower rents and better politics.” (via chillmost.com)

What? How about seeing it as poorer economy and struggling for an identity? And the rents may be cheaper but everything else is more expensive when you factor in the exchange rate. Berlin is nice but I just don’t get what the attraction to it is over Hamburg. Plus we have not nearly as many tourists schleping around here. Just because they have Dunkin’ Donuts there doesn’t make it a more desirable place to live.
