So I read that Adam Kalsey is sending SMS by e-mail for a project, and I wonder… well, first why doesn’t Adam just get a GSM modem… but then, why do the carriers allow that, don’t they miss out on the revenue? But of course, this is America, where the cell phone business is backwards and both sender and recipient pay for SMS, and since text messesging is now taking off in the States, the first kids are getting horrendous bills. So never mind.

We won’t neccessarily have control over the hardware on the server for this particular project. The project will likely be hosted on a dedicated hosting at a standard hosting facility so installing a GSM modem is out of the question.
I’ve got two plans right now with U.S. Cellular and AT&T Wireless and both accept incoming SMS messages with no charge. There is a 10 cent fee to send, but receiving is free. (Yes, I’m in the U.S.)
Can someone please help me find out who is the service provider for the prefix 397 in columbus ohio i would be so grateful thanx!!!!!!
