I usually don’t get excited about gadgets, but the SkyScout is a telescope that tells you what you’re looking at which sounds pretty cool to me.

Sometime last century, when I wanted to be an amateur astronomer, I learned the constellations the hard way – that is, with a map and a flashlight. Now, thats an improvement!

That’s one helluva gadget!…..but I bet its going to be expensive (just looked and its $400). Might take a bit of smooth talking to get that one past Mrs H. :)

Well… almost. It’s not a telescope, in that it doesn’t magnify. But it does tell you what you are looking at, or where in the sky to find what you want to look at. Still very cool… but so far only vaporware. ;o)
