Cooking with Spinach

by PapaScott on 31 January 2006

blubb I’m sure he does it just to shock us, but Christopher regularly requests spinach for supper. He didn’t learn to like it from his parents, neither of us can stand the stuff. Now the spokesperson for spinach in Germany is not Popeye, but the ex-model and ex-TV personality Verona Pooth (née Feldbusch), who in commercials said that her spinach is “the one that goes blubb” when it cooks, and even put out a spinach cookbook. Paris Hilton couldn’t have said it any better.

My kid really likes spinach as well. Perhaps there’s something we adults don’t know about?

My kids loooooove creamed spinach and so do I although I’d never had it before I came here. My husband despises it and runs a mile when I make it. Maybe Verona could change his mind…

Assuming your son is German born, and the product of the best of an American father and a German mother, you should be proud of him. He is just saying NO to both of you and saying YES for himself!

Mausi: Verona might change his mind if she did some stuck-in-the-mud with Spinach pictures :-)

I think your kid has great taste! I’m a big fan of spinach–although when I was his age, I did not like it at all.
